Description of female. Body length. 2.94mm. Body color. Face, frons and gena yellow, vertex and occiput darker, honey-yellow; area between ocelli black; scape dorsally light brown, ventrally yellow; pedicel light brown; flagellomeres 19 brown, the remainder lighter; setae on flagellomeres whitish; mesoscutum and mesopleuron brown; propleuron brownish yellow; pronotum honey yellow dorso-laterally, antero-ventrally light yellow; scutellar disc, metanotum and propodeum yellow; wing membrane hyaline, venation light brown; legs yellow; metasoma yellow, except T2-T6 dorsally brown; ovipositor sheaths dark brown. Head. Width of head (dorsal view) 2.14 its median length; ocelli small, ocell-ocular distance 3.00 the width of lateral ocellus (Fig. 21); eye (lateral view) 1.14 as high as wide; transverse diameter of eye 1.66 length of temple (Fig. 21); malar space length 0.69 basal width of mandible; face without any process; width of face, 2.25 its median height (Fig. 20); antenna 0.89 as long as body, with 20 flagellomeres; scape 7.70 as long as wide (lateral view), 6.25 as long as wide (frontal view); scape slightly bent outward (Fig. 21), with anterior surface somewhat flattened, with a longitudinal carina and slightly more setose than opposite surface; flagellomeres 17 ventrally carinate, with 6 and 7 being strongly elongated ventro-apically (Fig. 22); flagellum geniculate at F7; first flagellomere 1.66 as long as its apical width, 1.66 as long as flagellomere 2; flagellomere 2 nearly as long as wide; flagellomere 3 1.16 as long as wide; flagellomere 4 1.19 as long as wide; flagellomere 5 1.28 longer than wide; remainder of flagellum comprising 13 flagellomeres of cylindrical form; penultimate flagellomere 1.50 as long as wide, 0.56 the length of apical flagellomere. Mesosoma. Mesoscutum smooth and polished, except notauli complete and foveate, posteriorly deeply foveate; lateral lobes mostly devoid of setae (Fig. 23); scutellar furrow split by a distinct longitudinal carina medially; scutellar disc smooth and polished, mostly devoid of setae (Fig. 23); mesopleuron smooth and polished, mostly devoid of setae; precoxal sulcus absent; propodeum with dorsolateral surfaces smooth, anterior portion with a well developed longitudinal carina medially and with tiny transverse carinae bifurcating in the posterior portion, reaching a large and slightly irregular four-sided areola medially, one transverse carina not well developed laterally; propodeum slightly rugulose posteriorly and inside the areola, slightly depressed medially (Fig. 24). Legs. Hind femur 6.68 longer than wide in lateral view; hind tibia 3.00 as long as basitarsus. Wings. Forewing length 2.88 mm; length of marginal cell 0.72 the length of stigma. Metasoma. T1 twice as wide at apex than at base; T1 length 2.00 its width at apex; petiole weakly striate medially and smooth on posterior half (Fig. 25), with large dorsopes; remainder of metasoma smooth and polished, with few sparse setae; ovipositor length 0.30 the length of T1; ovipositor extending beyond apex of metasoma, flattened dorso-ventrally and strongly curved upwards (Figs 2627); ovipositor sheaths thick and setose along its length. Male. Unknown. Comments. The new species Streblocera (Eutanycerus) brasiliana sp. n. resembles S. (E.) sharifi Shamim, both have flagellum geniculate at 7 th flagellomere, antenna with 22 segments and first flagellomere with its length around 1.601.70 its width. It differs especially by having the scape with a longitudinal carina and without spine (scape at basal one-third with a minute spine in S. sharifi), ovipositor and sheaths both strongly curved upwards, sheaths thick (ovipositor long and curved downwards, sheaths slender in S. sharifi), surface of T1 weakly striate medially and smooth on posterior half (surface T1 longitudinally striate in S. sharifi). Distribution. Brazil, Rio de Janeiro State. High Montane Dense Ombrophilous Forest. Etymology. The specific name refers to this being the first species of this genus reported occurring in Brazil.
