Studies have evaluated laypersons' perceptions of different appliances, however, to date, there is no systematic review gathering the findings of primary studies on this subject. The results of the present review may be useful to inform orthodontists about their patients' perceptions and to define possible orthodontic treatments, aiming at greater patient’s cooperation and satisfaction outcomes. This systematic review has been guided by the focused question: “Is there a difference in the perceptions of children, adolescents and adults about orthodontic appliances?” |
