| Popis: | Two hundred and thirteen patients with advanced cancer of the ovary, of the three most common cell types, were studied for the benefits of phenylalanine mustard. The agent was observed to produce some antitumor effect in approximately half of the group. The degree and the duration of the response was varied but the palliation for the whole group was good and the drug toxicity comparatively low. The performance of patients treated with drug alone or with prior or subsequent x-ray therapy is compared. Thirteen of these patients responded unusually well and drug was discontinued after re-exploration. Two of these subsequently developed recurrence and drug has been resumed. |
