Popis: | Bronchogenic cysts are rare congenital anomalies. They are formed as an abnormal budding or branching from the tracheobronchial tree which derives from the primitive ventral foregut. Although bronchogenic cysts most frequently develop within pulmonary parenchyma or mediastinum, they may also be found within the pericardium or in the diaphragm. Unlike pulmonary bronchogenic cysts, the mediastinal variety rarely communicates with the tracheobronchial tree and has been reported as always solitary. This report presents a case with two bronchogenic cysts located in the mediastinum. On review of literature we found no case report of multiple mediastinal bronchogenic cysts. Thus it appears to be the first case report of two mediastinal bronchogenic cysts.
