| Popis: | Three cases of rapidly growing leiomyomata uteri in young oligomenorrheic women are presented. The atypical ultrasonic and histologic findings are discussed. A spectrum of atypical ultrasonic findings including a high degree of transonicity and multiple areas of cystic degeneration is described. Histologic examination correlates well in explaining the sonographic characteristics. In addition, a possible relationship between the presumably anovulatory cycles present in these women and their rapidly growing leiomyomata is suggested. |
