Popis: |
A proper functional thymus is required for generation of T cell–mediated immunity. This is dramatically illustrated by patients lacking a thymus, such as children with complete DiGeorge syndrome, which is fatal if left untreated.1-3 Therapeutic options for such patients are limited and confined to transplantation of small fragments from allogeneic neonatal thymi. |
