Popis: The article examines the issues surrounding efforts to promote coding instruction in U.S. schools. Topics discussed include the vision of the Obama administration for computer science education amid the educational gap between white and affluent students and minorities and the logistical issues brought about by the shortage of qualified teachers and the dearth of curricular materials. The need for students to learn theory prior to practice is mentioned.
