Popis: | In many patients with epigastric pain, ultrasonography is frequently the first imaging modality to evaluate the liver, gall bladder and pancreas. An upper gastrointestinal (UGI) series is then often employed if the ultrasonic examination is negative. Following this sequence, the diagnosis of a gastric ulcer may first be suggested by the ultrasonologist. In this report the ultrasonic study and UGI series are correlated in a patient with a gastric ulcer in the acute phase. A distinct ultrasonic pattern is observed. |
