Popis: he impacts of the climate crisis permeate different aspects of society. However, the subjectivity of cultural variables makes the analysis of the influence of climate change on the values and ways of life of individuals and the society in which they live more complex. This article proposes a re-reading of the concepts of the cultural theory of risk and cultural ecosystem services in order to investigate how the climate issue threatens the cultural dimensions and livelihoods of populations. Therefore, this analysis is based on a case study in the Brazilian Amazon region, whose population has experienced the transition from a rural to a globalized urban way of life, a worldwide trend. The results show the challenges arising from the climate crisis already influencing the eating habits of the local population. From semi-structured interviews with residents of two cities in the metropolitan region of Manaus, capital of Amazonas, it was possible to identify three macro strategies: surveillance, preservation and regulation in order to aggregate the 13 adaptation initiatives to deal with climate change at the same time there are cultural pressures from the growing process of globalization and urbanization.
