This Article attempts to explain the methodology used by the Companions )Sahaba( of the Prophet ﷺ -Sahaba- to draw inference from the Holy Qur’an by studying their biographies. According to all exegetes the Companions )Sahaba( of the Prophet ﷺ -Sahaba- are one of the main sources for interpreting the Holy Qur’an, their methodology for interpreting the Qur’an was that they used to refer to the Qur’an and Sunnah, but, if they couldn’t find it there, they would strive to explain it with the power of deduction. In this article, an attempt has been made to describe the method of reasoning of the Companions of the Holy Prophet ﷺ -Sahaba-, which method they used to derive the rulings from the Qur'anic verses. |
