Popis: The objective of this thesis was to increase the electrical net power output of the kite power system from 6.5 to 20 kW. Two approaches are pursued to achieve this goal. Firstly, the capacity of the generator is increased and, secondly, the total efficiency of the kite power system is improved. Weak spots in the existing ground station are identified and losses of its components are reduced. The improvement of the ground station is one prerequisite for demonstrating the potential of competitive energy costs of the kite power system, which in turn will determine the market segments that can be entered with this technology. The Munich procedure model is the methodology used in this thesis. It was developed at the Technical University of Munich on the basis of the “procedure for development and construction, the V-Model for the Design of Mechatronical Systems, the “problem-solving cycle of system engineering”, and the “approach cycle”.
