Popis: Veturius (Publius) crassus (Smith, 1852) (Figs. 1 f, 2 f, 3 f, 4 f) Third instar. Body: length 38.0 mm, width (prothorax) 8.0 mm; with tiny, stout setae; prosternal setae absent. Primary setal pattern: 3 HPA, 0 PD, 3 PSL, 0 MSD, 2 MSL, 0 MTD, 2 MTL, 0 TM, 1 TSM, 1 TL, 1 AV 9 (Table 2). TM setae present only on abdominal segment IX. Head: without uniform pile of short, golden setae; width of head capsule 6.0 mm. Epicranial suture short; frontal sutures extend to base of antennae (Fig. 1 f). Mandibles without micro-asperities on the ventral base. Maxillary stipes with 20 micro-conical projections (Fig. 2 f). Legs: pars stridens (mesocoxae) length 636.02 m, width 569.30 m, distance into striate 12.72 m, 42 striae; mesocoxae and metacoxae with 2 internal setae. Metathoracic legs with some very short setae; anterior margin with 6 teeth, I and IIIVI well developed, I and III are larger than IVVI, II is the smallest tooth (Fig. 3 f). Abdomen: raster with setae; anal ring with 18 setae; anal slit T-shaped (Fig. 4 f). Distribution. Endemic species from center of the Colombian Eastern Cordillera (Boucher 2006). However, the records cited in the Colombian Central Cordillera are considered erroneous because the altitude less than the average for the species, also the climate and forests are different (Boucher 2006) or the records need confirmation because the collection localities are doubtful (K.S.-N., personal observation). Material examined. COLOMBIA, CUNDINAMARCA, Albn, Granja del padre Luna, 2200 m, 9.ii. 2000. G. Amat (4 specimens).
