Popis: | This research wasdesigned to describe the development of a scale for measuring safety climate consideringindividual and organizational factors in shipbuilding industry. The populationof this study is comprised of the workers employed at eight shipyards locatedat Tuzla Shipyard Area in İstanbul. These workers are randomly selected fromevery department and handed out a scale form. Research sample consists of 245workers in total. The scale developed after a comprehensive scientificliterature review about safety climate and conducting a questionnaire. 43-itemsafety climate questionnaire was developed after a screening process and allthe results were analyzed on the SPSS and AMOS statistical programs. Theresults of research showed that developed safety climate scale is satisfactory withregards to the reliability tests and factor analysis. The analyses demonstratethat this study developed a valid and reliable safety climate scale for shipbuildingindustry. |
