| Popis: | Pseudoceros maximus Lang, 1885 (Fig. 11 J) Type locality. Gulf of Naples (Lang 1885). Occurrence in the Canary Island. Pseudoceros maximus was observed at depths of 1 metre. Taxonomic remarks. The specimens studied agree with the description of Pseudoceros maximus from Naples (Lang 1884) and Trieste (Steinb��ck 1933). This species shows a wide, oval, and almost rounded body of compact, fleshy consistency with ornate edges that are not wavy. The pseudotentacles are short and simple, close to each other. The pigmentation is characterized by a brown tonality with dark and pale shades and varying numbers of white or whitish specks and brushstrokes. Due to its very common coloration, Pseudoceros maximus has been frequently confused with other species or erroneously identified, which contributes to its ambiguous distribution.
