These samples ranged from 48 to 119 participants, for a total N of 853. Primary caregivers completed the Early Childhood Behavior Questionnaire (ECBQ) regarding temperament; the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) regarding behavior problems; adaptations of Socialization Goals and Parental Ethnotheories questionnaires regarding parental beliefs; and new questionnaires concerning daily activities and parent responses to temperament displays. Cultural orientation scores were obtained from archival data.
