Popis: | In this project, we will evaluate a newly developed fMRI movie watching task and investigate neurophysiological similarities through different levels of investigation between participants. First, neural and physiological correlates in children and adults will be investigated to inform about developmental patterns, affective processing and dynamics of these interacting systems while watching the fMRI movie task. In addition, behavioral ratings of the affective content of the task will be collected from children and adults to ensure the feasibility and validity of the task in eliciting the expected neural responses associated with emotion process, regulation or mentalizing. Second, we will examine neural and physiological similarities in adult participants who are friends compared to randomly assigned dyads of the similar age and same sex, while considering the impact of the duration and quality of their relationship. Such investigations will inform about the interplay of different neurophysiological within person dynamics and the influence of social variables and the interaction of these systems in meaningful social dyads (i.e., friendship). Overall, these investigations will build the foundation for an in depth understanding of the social and neurophysiological properties associated with a novel fMRI movie watching task for use in different age groups, including children and adults. |
