Popis: Vitiligo is an acquired condition which is associated with the loss of pigment without other apparent histological changes in the skin. In general, it is believed that the melanocytes actually are present in the involved skin but are in an inhibited state of functional activity. Our present study reports on the cjtological findings of various pigment cells in the normally pigmented and depigmented skins of 18 cases of vitiligo. We also made cytological observations on the melanocytes of the repigmented areas in vitiligo patients who had either repigmented spontaneously or following treatment.
