The dynamic work environments in construction and civil infrastructure sectors remain susceptible to safety risks. These sectors are among the most hazardous industries with high rates of worksite accidents. Worksite accidents in the construction and infrastructure industries result in adverse cost, schedule, and quality deviations from project plans. Despite recent advancements in the theory and practice of construction and infrastructure worksite safety, there is currently a gap in quantitatively measuring the impacts of worksite accidents. This thesis aims to quantify the impacts of worksite accidents on cost, schedule, and quality of work, and support effective decision-making. Moreover, it explores features that determine the injury type at the individual level of analysis. |
