Popis:	Numerous attempts have been made to prevent restenosis after successful transluminal dilation of an atherosclerotic vessel using a variety of pharmacologic and mechanical approaches. This article reviews the pathobiology of the restenosis process, offers a hypothesis as to its cause, reviews attempts to modify the process, and outlines therapeutic approaches to future treatment.
