Popis: Fourteen pounds of endrin per acre (15.68 kg/ha) were incorporated 4-6 in, into a sandy loam soil at Riverside, California. This resulted in 2.3-4.7 µg of endrin/g of soil sampled from the 0- to 6-in. (15.24-cm) horizon. Nine varieties of carrot, Daucus carota , were compared for uptake of endrin residues from soil; this uptake varied from 1 to 4 ppm of apparent endrin among the varieties studied. The major portion of the endrin residue in a carrot root can be removed by peeling it. There are rough correlations between variety and endrin uptake and between age of carrot and endrin uptake.
