Popis: Since 2007, in addition to a lower mid-line mini-sternotomy and a right anterior mini-thoracotomy, a right posterior-lateral mini-thoracotomy has also been offered as a surgical option. Depending on the type of congenital heart disease (CHD), we may enter into the chest by using the fourth or the fifth intercostal space. In details, we enter the chest in the fifth intercostal space for treating more simple CHDs as ASD II and partial-AVSD, usually with the use of induced ventricular fibrillation. In contract, we chose to enter in the fourth intercostal space for more complex CHDs as partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection (PAPVC), discrete subaortic stenosis, ventricular septal defects, and so on. Through this approach the aorta can be easily visualized and cross-clamped. As in right anterior mini-thoracotomy (RAMT), when aortic cannulation is required (patients with a body weight Chapter 5 ). This cannula has a long stilet, which make easy aortic cannulation.
