Popis: | The magnetic phase diagram of single crystal thin films of Ho/Er alloys has been determined by using neutron-scattering techniques. The results show an unusual penta-critical point at which the paramagnetic, basal-plane helix, tilted helix, cycloid and longitudinally modulated phases are all stable, and a disordered isotropic phase which is completely surrounded in the phase diagram by phases with long-range order. |
