The article deals with the biography of Mayevskaya Lina, who has been working as a teacher of German at the department of German and French languages in Kharkov University for 60 years. She has published over 70 scientific works devoted to the modern vocabulary of the German language, problems of intercultural communication, etc. L.Mayevskaya has been the Executive Secretary, and then the Vice-President of the Society for Friendship with Germany since 1968. And all this time she has had an active social position and made a significant contribution to the development of contacts between the University and the city of Kharkov with Germany in the field of science and culture. |
