Popis: | The author describes social changes mainly after World War II in Japan in relation to health and living of the people. The health status and its relation to social changes is analysed. Health status in general has improved rapidly to the level of most developed countries in terms of mortality. The main problems are cerebrovascular diseases, heart diseases, malignant tumours and accidents. But as to prevalence, and consultation rates of diseases, these rose rapidly mainly in urbanized areas and among the aged population. Those trends are serious. The expansion of such medical demands as those due to these diseases is a big burden for health policy and administration. |
