A note on the use of silicone rubber facings in the reassembly of archaeological painted plasters

Popis:	In order to hold archaeological painted fragments firmly while a new support is built, a silicone rubber based facing was applied. After the fragments had been prepared and protected with an effective de-moulding agent, silicone rubber was poured directly onto the painted surface. Removal of the facing involved only very small amounts of water and consequently the risk to the paint layer was very low.
