Popis:	A stereoselective total synthesis of the 2-(2-hydroxyalkyl)piperidine alkaloids has been accomplished by a Prins–Ritter amidation sequence. Other steps involved in this synthesis are Jacobsen's hydrolytic kinetic resolution (HRK) and ring-closing metathesis (RCM).
