Popis: A theoretical study of the effects of Magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) and surface roughness on squeeze film parallel stepped plates. The modified Reynolds equation is derived on the basis of Magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) thin film lubrication theory and Christensen stochastic theory. The Reynolds equation is solved for pressure, load carrying capacity and squeezing time. It is observed that the effect of transverse (longitudinal) roughness pattern is to increase (decrease) the pressure, load carrying capacity and squeeze film time compared with smooth surface case.
