Popis: This resource is a workshop on writing effective educational grant proposals. It is targeted to health science educators who are interested in submitting grant proposals or in refining their grant proposal writing skills. The authors have conducted workshops on grant writing at various regional meetings and have presented this iteration of their workshop at the 2010 Association of American Medical Colleges Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. Participants highlighted the workshop's well-organized combination of didactics and hands-on activities with collegial discussions, as well as its clear and useful supplemental resources. Participants regretted the limited time slot of these sessions; it is thus recommended that longer sessions, along with follow-up sessions, be scheduled to provide participants with more grantsmanship opportunities. Participants expressed willingness to more actively seek internal institutional resources, as well as peer feedback and collaboration. The authors recommend that internal resources, as well as opportunities for collegial grantsmanship exchanges, be offered at the institutional level.
