Popis: | Tensile load-bearing behaviour of concrete components with impregnated textile reinforcement made of natural fibres. Recently, the use of natural fibres as a reinforcement in composite building materials have witnessed a growing interest amongst researchers due to their ecological, economical and mechanical properties. In civil engineering, however, they have not been considered in extensive investigations or the development of design guidelines for concrete members with textile reinforcement made of synthetic fibres. In this paper, the uniaxial tensile load-bearing behaviour of concrete members reinforced with flax fibre textiles (impregnated leno fabrics) is investigated. Therefore, test specimens were casted and tested, varying parameters of the textiles, e. g., the spacing of the weft threads. For a reference, both test specimens reinforced with non-impregnated textiles and without any reinforcement were investigated. The suitability of this type of reinforcement for concrete members under uniaxial tension is shown by an increase in the ultimate load compared to members without or with less reinforcement. The curves of the stress-strain diagrams can be divided into three stages typical for reinforced tensile test specimens (state I - uncracked, state IIa - process of cracking and state IIb - completed crack pattern). The differentiation of the areas is clearer with an increasing reinforcement cross-section. Further, a finely distributed crack pattern with uniform crack widths was observed which supports the findings of the diagrams. |
