Popis: This paper presents mathematical modelling for the outgoing quality (OQ) ofsingle and double sampling plans when the incoming fraction nonconforming, p', has a beta distribution. This is in contrast with the traditional assumption that p' is a constant and its point estimates can be used to model acceptance sampling plans. Several numerical examples are presented to compare the average outgoing quality (AOQ) for random and constant p' of single and double sampling plans for varying parameter values of the beta distribution. These numerical examples, which were performed by using computer simulations, indicate that the AOQ for random p' differs considerably from the nonrandom p' whenever single or double sampling is used.
