Popis: | Nuclear envelopes were isolated from rat-liver nuclei. Nuclear envelope-associated RNA was isolated and hybridized to filter-bound DNA in the presence of competing RNA populations. Cytoplasmic RNA did not effectively compete for DNA binding sites, while nuclear RNA did. The results indicate a high degree of complexity for nuclear envelope-associated RNA, and are compatible with the idea that hnRNA may be processed after attachment to the nuclear envelope (or nuclear matrix). |
