Popis: This is the final report of WP2175 “UAV for BRDF characterization” of the ESA project “Quality Assurance for Earth Observation” (QA4EO).This document focuses on the BRDF validation results obtained by an advanced system of measurement based on a UAV multirotor equipped with multispectral camera compliant with Sentinel-2 sensor.WP2175 has demonstrated the potential of using UAV platform for surface reflectance and BRDF validation, an integrated approach that combine: Advanced UAVsystem able to accomplish automatic and repeatable surveys collecting multiangular acquisitions; UAV multispectral camera designed to be compliant with radiometric characteristic of multispectral instrument installed on Sentinel-2 satellite constellation; the centimetres spatial resolution and the independence from atmospheric effects or cloud cover; the collection of dataset on different surfaces; the evaluation of model for BRDF estimation.
