Popis: | Urbanization and continuing car dependence lead to inevitable traffic congestion, emissions and mobility-safety problems for transport policymakers and urban planners. With most EU-citizens (over 70%) living in urban areas of which most in small and medium-sized cities, they should be ground target to promote the accomplishments and innovations and position them as excellent living labs for innovation. Considerable advances have been made in designing and implementing traffic control and regulations preparing the proper transition to the new and demanding agenda of European small and medium-sized cities regarding speed adaptation and ultimately decarbonization. This study presents a solution capable of being integrated into the traffic management value-chain, offering a bridge between Intelligent Speed Assistance systems and the physical and digital infrastructure of cities. This solution has been tested in the city of Helmond to demonstrate the clear role of medium-sized cities in the adoption of innovations to accomplish future mobility challenges. {"references":["Ana Paul, Diego Rodriguez, Gema Antequera, & Raul Urbano.
