Popis: | Genus Cyanotiphia Cameron, 1907 (Figs.1–3) Cyanotiphia Cameron, 1907, The Entomologist 40:287 (description female). Type species: Cyanotiphia ruficauda Cameron, 1907 (by monotype) Type locality: Quop, Sarawak, Borneo. Type depository: British Museum. Diagnosis. Males and females of the genus Cyanotiphia can be recognized by the following combination of characters (after Cameron, 1907; Allen, 1969): 1) body colour dark metallic blue (Figs. 2–3); 2) presence of two midtibial spurs (Figs. 3E); 3) mid and hind femora,in females, cylindrical, not broadened as in other genera of the subfamily Tiphiinae (Figs.3F); 4) radius of forewing with an intercubital spur as in Paratiphia Sichel (Figs. 2A, 3G); 5) tegulae large, about half the length of pro and mesonotum (Figs.2A, 3A).
