Popis: 1. 1. The mortality and the chromium gill accumulation was determined for potassium dichromate. 2. 2. The influence of pH, temperature and the concomitant presence of a fluorescent whitening agent (Blankophor) was studied. 3. 3. An increase in mortality related to temperature was found. A small influence of both pH and whitening was observed. 4. 4. Chromium in the tank produces accumulation of the metal by gills. This accumulation is not related to dose or temperature. Some small effect of pH and a clear effect of the whitening was found. 5. 5. Chromium in gills of moribund fish (“dead”) was higher than in still alive but identically treated fish.
