Popis:	The title compound, C10H14N2O3·H2O, was synthesized by alkylation of methyl 3-(1H-pyrrole-2-carboxamido)propionate with ethyl bromide, followed by saponification and acidification. In the crystal structure, intermolecular O—H...O and N—H...O hydrogen bonds link the molecules, forming layers parallel to the ac plane.
