Popis: | Advancement in the techniques and equipments of the minimal access surgery have allowed almost all gynecological procedures to be performed laparoscopically. One of the most important advances in the laparoscopic surgery is the use of morcellator so that even very large specimens can be removed laparoscopically. Very few complications have been reported in the medical literature related to the use of morcellator and most of these are intraoperative mechanical injuries to various abdominal viscera. We report a case of a woman who presented with disseminated intraperitoneal deposits of leiomyosarcoma 6 months after total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) for uterine fibroids. The morcellator was used for retrieval of the specimen at laparoscopic surgery. (excerpt) |
