Popis: The research focuses on the economic impact of COVID-19 pandemic on tourism in Slovenia. The aim of this research is to estimate the decline in tourism and to examine the measures taken to soften the blow. Relying on SURS public data on tourist arrivals and overnight stays and with the help of Tableau 10.4 data visualization software we were able to create graphs for different time periods. According to the data, such forecasts for the world are pretty reliable. For Slovenia, however, due to shorter timeline and more year-to-year fluctuations, slightly less. Forecasts suggest that once the COVID-19 pandemic eases the international tourism is likely to return to pre-pandemic level relatively quickly. This has proven true in the past for international tourism growth continues and tourist still have strong desire to travel. In Slovenia, however, it will take more time for tourism to recover. Forecasts suggest that it will recover faster than it did after the breakup of the former Yugoslavia, which took more than 10 years to come to 1989.
