Popis:	The coagulase-negative Staphylococcus lugdunensis, a bacterium similar to Staphylococcus aureus, produces tannase that degrades tannin. We developed a polymerase chain reaction-based method to rapidly and simply identify this species by detecting the tanA gene for S. lugdunensis tannase.
