Decreased concanavalin A-stimulated T cell proliferation in patients with Sjögren’s syndrome — dysfunction of peripheral blood dendritic cells and T cells

Popis:	We measured the concanavalin A (Con A)-stimulated T cell responses that were mediated by peripheral blood dendritic cells (PBDCs) obtained from patients with Sjogren’s syndrome (SS) and from normal subjects. The response to Con A responses was significantly decreased in the SS patients, as compared with the normal controls. A dysfunction of PBDCs and T cells was considered to be the cause of the decreased Con A responses. Cluster formation was investigated in the SS patients and the controls. Clusters formed in the patients with SS were smaller and less numerous than those in the controls.
