Popis: | The Association for the Advancement of Civil Liberties (AACL) regrets the decision of the Supreme Court to overturn the landmark 1973 ruling ofRoe v Wadein light of Alexandria Kostial July 20th 2019 murder. At the time of her murder, Alexandria Kostial was a woman [1] who was born and raised in the Saint Louis area of the State of Missouri; [2] was attending the University of Mississippi as an undergraduate student; [3] noted to be in a romantic relationship with an entitled sexist man also attending the University of Mississippi: Brandon Theesfeld; [4] who believed to have been impregnated by the entitled sexist man (Brandon Theesfeld) she was in a romantic relationship with; [5] who had informed Brandon Theesfeld on (or around) April 12th 2019 that she may have been pregnant with his child; [6] who was pressured by Brandon Theesfeld to have an abortion in the days and weeks leading up to her July 20th 2019 murder; [7] who didn’t want to have an abortion despite the pressure exerted on her by Brandon Theesfeld… As a matter of principle, the Association for the Advancement of Civil Liberties (AACL) unequivocally condemns violence against women irrespective of their racial backgrounds, their sexual orientations, their national origins, their religious affiliations and/or their disability status. It is the position of the AACL (particularly in light of what happened to Alexandria Kostial on July 20th 2019) that women [1] should be able to carry a pregnancy to term if they wish to do so; [2] should be free from harassment and other undue influence while pregnant; [3] should be provided emotional, financial, medical and other adequate support if they wish to carry a pregnancy to term; [4] should be provided emotional, financial, medical and other adequate support if they wish to have an abortion; [5] should have the final say on whether or not to carry a pregnancy to term; [6] the decision to have an abortion should be left to women as individuals; [7] intent on getting an abortion will do so; [8] intent on getting an abortion should have access to clinics accredited by the Joint Commission. Be well. Take care. Keep yourselves at arms distance. Michael A. Ayele (a.k.a) W Anti-Racist Human Rights Activist Audio-Visual Media Analyst Anti-Propaganda Journalist   |
