Popis: 1. 1. The kinetics of induction of RNA and DNA synthesis varies significantly in PHA stimulated human lymphocytes from different individuals. This is also true with regard to the rate with which these cells lose the capacity to synthesize RNA and DNA. The relationship of these findings, to the use of mixed lymphocyte cultures for measuring genetic relatedness, is discussed. 2. 2. Morphological transformation occurs at the normal rate and to the same extent under conditions in which DNA synthesis is almost completely inhibited. Under these conditions RNA synthesis proceeds normally for the first 24 hr, and, thereafter, is strongly inhbited. 3. 3. PHA at high concentrations depresses cellular RNA and DNA synthesis.
