Mesonotum with dense, short, orange-yellow and slightly to strongly sub appressed pile; anterior margin of scutum rather narrowly grey-pollinose; pleura more or less entirely non-pollinose and shiny except pollinose and dull on proepimeron, except postero-ventral corner which is non-pollinose and shiny, anterior 1/61/3 of anterior anepisternum and sometimes pilose dorsal part of katepisterum weakly pollinose and sub-shiny; scutellum with rather long orange-yellow pile. Mesofemur with rather short yellow pile, longest ventral pile about 2/3 as long as width of metafemur. Terga II and III medially short appressed black pilose, along lateral margin with long yellow pile; tergum IV on anterior half with erect black pile and on posterior half with appressed longer yellow pile; tergum I entirely and densely grey pollinose; sterna rather densely grey-brown pollinose except for lateral margin of terga IIIV with long but narrow non-pollinose and shiny vitta. Genitalia (Figs 15 AC): surstylus with concave ventral margin, rounded apex and straight dorsal margin, some long yellow pile on baso-dorsal corner; hypandrium in ventral view basally rounded with very weak medio-lateral corners, apical part only slightly narrower; superior lobe with rather wide and rounded incision apico-ventrally, apico-dorsal corner rounded; aedeagus baso-dorsally with long triangular extension and without apico-dorsal extension. Body length 9.511.1 mm (male), 10.611.7 mm (female); wing length 7.68.5 mm (male), 7.99.2 mm (female). Remarks. The first records for Luxemburg are here presented. The species Myolepta vara is well known based on the description in Reemer et al. (2005), so it was unnecessary to examine the type. Distribution. Widespread in central Europe from northern Germany and the south of the Netherlands to Spain and Greece and eastwards to Azerbaijan.
