Popis: | The effects of the acute intravenous administration of chlorothiazide upon the pressor responsiveness to norepinephrine and angiotensin II in normal human subjects have been examined by measuring blood pressure and digital blood flow. Chlorothiazide did blunt the pressor responsiveness to norepinephrine, but not to angiotensin, when they were administered in the same infusion. Chlorothiazide did not decrease pressor responsiveness to either agent when they were administered simultaneously but in separate infusions. The effect of chlorothiazide upon the pressor response to norepinephrine when the two are admixed is presumably related to instability of norepinephrine in the alkaline pH of the chlorothiazide solution. |
