Popis: | Aortic rupture in association with a contiguous intraabdominal abscess is rare. We report an unusual case of aortic rupture in association with a polymicrobial abscess and review the related literature. Cultures grew Eikenella corrodens, a rare intraabdominal pathogen, as well as beta-hemolytic streptococcus and S. viridans. The patient was successfully managed by aortic ligation followed by an extraanatomic bypass. |
