Popis:	Congenital giant nevi are melanotic proliferations present at birth which often grow to 20 cm or more when adulthood is attained. These patients stand the risk of developing melanomas including dermal melanomas in more than 2/3rd of patients. The risk of melanoma development is highest in childhood although it can occasionally occur in adults. The above case emphasizes the need to thoroughly examine patients with congenital nevi to rule out dermal melanomas.
