Madagascar is one of the African countries most severely affected by climate change impacts and extreme weather events. Natural disasters pose a great challenge in Madagascar in terms of frequency and damage. With a greater capacity of the individual, community and environment to face the disasters, the impact of a hazard would be significantly reduced. The overall objective of this article is to gain insights about the natural hazards and their trends in Madagascar. This article also examines the best practices and problems militating against effective disaster management in the country. |
