Popis: | Whether the COVID-19 pandemic influences suicide rates in older adults is not yet known. However, the pandemic is likely to result in a confluence of the risk factors for suicidal behaviours (Reger et al., 2020) informing approaches to prevention. In this paper we examine the links between suicide in older people and the COVID-19 pandemic, provide the perspectives of psychiatrists from four regions (China, Hong Kong, Italy and Australia) facing different challenges and sociocultural contexts, and propose solutions to support older people. |
