Popis: | This paper reports the authors' clinical use of sonar. They now use sonar methods for the very early diagnosis of pregnancy and for measurements of the foetal head throughout the growth of the baby. They are also extending its use to finding the position of the placenta, which offers a clue to bleeding before delivery. The early diagnosis of twins is possible. In many respects sonar is proving more reliable than previous radiography and biochemical methods, without the hazards of ionizing radiation. This paper is based on the authors' lecture at the conference ‘Ultrasonics for Industry’ in October 1966. |
