Hyponatremia in patients with chronic heart failure and preserved ejection fraction of the left ventricle

Popis: Aim of the study: to study the occurrence of hyponatremia in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) with LVPEF. Material and methods: The study multi-directionally included 361 patients with CHF and LVPEF, who were at stationary treatment in the clinic SI “National institute of therapy, named after L.T. Malaya, NAMS of Ukraine”. All patients were divided in 3 groups: Group 1 – 120 patients with the stable course of the disease. Group 2 –163 patients with decompensation of CHF in LVPEF. Group 3 included 78 patients with HF and LVPEF, died as a result of HF acute decompensation. The obtained results were processed using the package of applied statistic programs SPSS 17.0. Results of the study: In group 1 6 patients (5.0 %) demonstrated hyponatremia. In group 2 it was detected in 42 patients (25.8 %), in 3 group – in 30 persons (38.0 %).
